“The abbreviation of IIFA stands for International Indian Film Academy Awards, yet it initially catered only to Hindi cinema. However, in 2017, a second event called IIFA Utsavam was introduced for South Indian cinema. I am so glad and honored to be part of IIFA in 2024 because now, in every sense, it truly means Indian International Film Awards, after bringing five industries together Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi—as one family, one community: the Indian film industry.
