Sudhir Saxena Honoured as Guest of Honour at REC India’s Blood Donation Camp in Gurugram

Gurugram, June 16, 2025 – International kickboxing star Sudhir Saxena was honoured today by REC India Ltd during a blood donation camp organized at the company’s corporate headquarters in Gurugram. The event, graced by the presence of Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, CMD and CEO of REC India Ltd, highlighted the convergence of sports, social responsibility, and public welfare, with Sudhir serving as the Guest of Honour.

The camp was held at the REC Auditorium, E-Block, and brought together employees, volunteers, and community members to donate blood and raise awareness about the importance of regular blood donation. Sudhir’s presence as Guest of Honour not only added prestige to the event but also sent a powerful message about the role athletes can play in promoting humanitarian causes.

A Sporting Icon with a Social Mission

Sudhir Saxena, who has represented India at the Asian Kickboxing Championships in Cambodia (winning bronze) and the 4th India Open Kickboxing Championship (winning silver), is more than a decorated athlete—he’s a symbol of resilience, humility, and social action.

Born in Lahasani village, Ballia (U.P.), Sudhir’s path to international recognition has been shaped by discipline, struggle, and a deep sense of purpose. Over the years, he has emerged not only as a formidable force in the ring but also as a committed philanthropist, working with various NGOs across India for education, rural development, and public health.

Words of Appreciation from REC Leadership

In his address, Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, commended Sudhir for his multi-faceted contributions:

“Sudhir’s dedication to his sport is admirable, but what stands out is his commitment to social service. He represents the ideal citizen—one who excels professionally while remaining deeply grounded in service to others. REC India Ltd is honoured to welcome him.”

Sudhir responded with a humble yet powerful message:

“Sport gives us strength, but service gives us purpose. I’m proud to be here today to support a cause that directly saves lives. A single unit of blood can be the difference between life and death—and that’s a responsibility we all share.”

A Foundation of Support and Family Strength

Sudhir’s journey has been strongly supported by the encouragement of his father, Mr. Suresh Saxena, and the unwavering strength of his wife, Priyanka Gautam. Their belief in him has helped carry him through the highs and lows of his sporting career.

He also acknowledged the vital role of the Gauravi Foundation, led by Mahesh Verma and Summit Chaudhry, for supporting both his athletic goals and his community outreach efforts. The Punjab National Bank (PNB), too, has played an essential role in recognizing and encouraging his achievements, most notably when he was felicitated on Republic Day by PNB MD & CEO Shri Ashok Chandra.

More Than a Medal Winner

Sudhir’s recognition today wasn’t about a medal or trophy—it was about leadership and humanity. As India continues to build a culture that values health, wellness, and civic duty, icons like Sudhir Saxena serve as essential beacons.

With future tournaments ahead, Sudhir remains focused on achieving gold for India, but he’s equally determined to inspire the youth, advocate for wellness, and participate in initiatives like today’s blood donation camp.

“Being an athlete is about more than victory. It’s about how you use your platform to give others hope,” Sudhir concluded.

An Inspiration for the Nation

Sudhir’s presence at the REC India blood donation camp is a reminder that real heroes fight not only in the ring but also for society. His actions continue to inspire young Indians to live healthier, stronger, and more compassionate lives.

As he continues his journey, both in sports and in service, Sudhir Saxena is truly a champion—on and off the field.
