Adnaan Khan: From Delhi Boy to India’s Dog Training Pioneer

New Delhi, 30 September 2025 – Born in 1992 in Munirka, Delhi, Adnaan Khan has emerged as a trailblazer in dog training, blending passion, innovation, and entrepreneurship. From humble beginnings in a joint family, Khan’s upbringing was shaped by hardworking parents: his father steadily advanced in the airline industry, while his mother ensured the household ran smoothly and the children could pursue higher education abroad despite limited resources.

Early Fascination with Dogs

As a child, Khan was introverted and observant, often drawn to stray dogs in his neighbourhood. By his teenage years, he was volunteering at shelters, walking dogs, and devouring books on canine behaviour. Reflecting on his early ambitions, he said,

“I always knew I wanted to create something of my own. Business felt like the only sustainable way to merge creativity, impact, and livelihood.”

After earning a business degree from the University of East Anglia, UK, Khan returned to India, acquiring his first dog and spending six months self-training—an experience that convinced him this was his true calling.

From Corporate Jobs to Canine Entrepreneurship

Khan briefly worked in luxury real estate before joining Dogspot, India’s first pet e-commerce startup, where he developed digital products and built a community of pet lovers. On weekends, he began consulting as a dog trainer. The demand soon outpaced his full-time job, prompting him to launch K9 School in 2016, which has since become India’s fastest-growing dog training academy.

His proprietary CRP® (Correct–Redirect–Praise) system introduced a structured, humane approach to dog training, significantly reducing bite incidents, abuse, and abandonment. To date, K9 School has trained over 20,000 families and 1,500 students worldwide, creating both better pets and dignified career opportunities for dog enthusiasts.

Expanding Impact and Global Recognition

Khan’s influence extends beyond traditional training. His initiatives include K9 Healers, a therapy dog program empowering underprivileged youth, people with special needs, and the LGBTQ community. His expertise has taken him to the Police Dog Centre Holland, German Special Forces, and even the Lok Sabha Parliament, where he became the first civilian to consult on security dog systems.

He has also completed his first book, now submitted for publishing, documenting his methods and their impact on dog training careers, clinics, shelters, and military kennels.

Vision for the Future

Looking ahead, Khan envisions K9 School as the global digital voice of dog training, leveraging AI, edtech, and licensing. He emphasizes the transformative role of dogs:

“Dogs are not just companions. They are healers, protectors, and teachers. My mission is to transform how India lives with its 35+ million dogs.”

Adnaan Khan continues to lead K9 School as Founder & CEO, setting new benchmarks in canine training and animal welfare across India and beyond.
