Chartered Speed Strengthens Electric Mobility Presence in Arunachal Pradesh

Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Chowna Mein Flags Off New Fleet of Electric Buses

India, June 6, 2025 – Chartered Speed, a leading player in India’s passenger mobility sector across B2G, B2B, and B2C segments, has expanded its green transportation initiative to Arunachal Pradesh. In collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh State Transport Service (APSTS), the company has deployed a fleet of 10 state-of-the-art electric buses to enhance public connectivity while advancing sustainable mobility in the region.

The launch was marked by a formal flag-off ceremony led by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, Shri Chowna Mein, who inaugurated the electric bus services as a step towards environmentally conscious transport infrastructure.

The newly deployed 9-meter, air-conditioned electric buses will operate across key urban centers including Itanagar, Namsai, and Pasighat. Chartered Speed has also installed strategically located EV charging stations in these cities to ensure uninterrupted and efficient operations. This infrastructure supports quick charging and reduced downtime, enabling a reliable and green transit experience for commuters.

“At Chartered Speed, we are committed to ensuring that sustainable mobility is accessible to all, regardless of location,” said Mr. Sanyam Gandhi, Whole-Time Director, Chartered Speed. “Our partnership with APSTS is a testament to our vision of delivering clean, connected, and future-ready transportation solutions across India, especially in remote and underserved regions.”

Chartered Speed continues its transition from internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles to eco-friendly, green-fuel-powered buses. This initiative aligns with the company’s broader mission to drive India’s green mobility transformation and reduce carbon emissions from public transport.

With a fleet of over 1800 buses and operations spanning Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Assam, the company serves more than 3.5 lakh passengers daily, supported by a dedicated workforce of 4,800+ employees. Recently, Chartered Speed was awarded a major contract by Convergence Energy Services Limited (CESL) to operate over 900 electric buses across 13 cities in three states — further solidifying its leadership in sustainable mobility solutions.
