Dr Sangita Reddy launches Subramanyam Yadavalli’s debut book ‘The Resilient Path’!

‘The Resilient Path’, a guide for future generations on navigating and triumphing over adversity with wisdom and resilience.

Hyderabad, 4th August 2024: The popular home-grown CEO of Apollo Hospitals Subramanyam Yadavalli’s debut book ‘The Resilient Path’ was launched by Dr Sangita Reddy, Joint Managing Director of Apollo Hospitals Group, at a book launch event at Hotel Daspalla, today. The event was well-attended by several noted dignitaries of the city that included bureaucrats, police officials, Doctors and several others.

Launching the book Dr Sangita Reddy said, “there are many things that Subramanyam has done in his outstanding career, and this is a perfect testimony to his deep dedication and share his learning, because the ultimate ability to make others do as well as you have done, is by penning your voyage. I believe the book is going to be an interesting combination, because he himself is an interesting character. As a professional he stands out, he is disciplined, knowledgeable, competent, which he combines with this unique trend of his belief in bhakti. A combination of bhakti with professional knowledge is a unique characteristic of Indian professionals. It is probably one of the reasons why so many of our professionals are making global mark and it could be attributed to the upbringing as well. In his early days I saw his dedication to his parents, through his growth I saw his commitment to his family. His ability to get things done without ruffling feathers is a unique characteristic of Subramanyam. He was an extremely successful CEO in a hospital environment, where there are so many people with their own egos, suffering patients, in trauma, distress, surrounded by high achieving doctors, complex technology, to juggle all those and continue to handle the situations calmly and efficiently, is remarkable. The biggest strength I saw in you was your ability to adapt to the situation. Only someone who has a combination of knowledge, confidence and inner strength can do this. Your thirty-three years at Apollo has been outstanding, true you yourself too evolved during this journey. The book offers unique perspectives on mindful living, embracing change, and thriving in a fast-paced world. It encourages us to find balance and inner harmony amidst the chaos of our external environment.”

My book narrates my journey from a ward boy in a diagnostics centre to my rise through the ranks, overcoming many challenges. Interspersed with the personal anecdotes and reflections, my book offers a roadmap for aspiring managers to overcome obstacles, seize opportunities and chart their course toward success. In this book I wrote what life taught me, the book is a culmination of my personal and professional experiences, the lessons learnt, challenges overcome, and insights gained in the last forty years. It portrays the power of resilience, adaptability and the timeless wisdom that has guided me throughout my journey from a ward boy to a CEO.” said the author Mr Subramanyam Yadavalli.

Subramanyam Yadavalli has had an illustrious career spanning four decades, with the last three decades seeing him excel in executive lead roles at Apollo Hospitals, in Marketing and Operations, and eventually as Regional CEO. His meteoric rise from the humblest of beginnings to the pinnacle of healthcare business leadership transcends the familiar underdog theme as it is marked with the deep desire of an eternal management student wanting to share the knowledge of his personal and corporate life’s lessons.

It is this deep desire that prompted Mr Subramanyam to write his experiences and insights for the benefit of shaping the next generation of leaders, and thereby contribute to the future of management education.

“Embracing fear was not about eliminating it but learning to dance with it. It was about harnessing, its energy to push boundaries, to venture into uncharted territories, and to continually strive for personal and professional growth. It was a lesson in turning challenges into opportunities, failures into steppingstones, and fears into inspirations.”

Drawing from the pages of the Ramayana, we still celebrate Lord Rama not for any supernatural feats but for his unwavering positivity amidst overwhelmingly negative circumstances.”

“True resilience isn’t about constantly battling challenges, but about maintaining inner strength and making judicious decisions in the face of adversity. It demands patience, focus, adaptability, and courage, among other traits. Discernment lies in recognizing which trait to employ at a given moment.”

“My new mantra became; “Before responding to the outside world, first confront and counsel oneself,” By centering oneself and focusing on internal introspection rather than external factors, you’re often better positioned to make informed and optimal choices.”

“Our anxieties about the future often rob us of our present contentment. We tend to magnify challenges or uncertainties looming in the horizon, even before they manifest, leading the unnecessary distress.”

The book titled “The Resilient Path: Transforming Uncertainty into Strength”, is available in paperback edition, priced at MRP  395/-, and published by Stardom Books. It is available in leading retail bookstores across the country, and online on Amazon.
