Eshaa Pathak on Observing People to Enhance Acting: “It Helps Bring Authenticity to Characters”

Bringing a character to life goes beyond memorizing lines—it’s about immersing oneself in the character’s world. For actors, keen observation becomes a powerful tool in delivering authentic performances. Eshaa Pathak, who plays Gauri in Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri on Sun Neo, believes that watching and learning from real people is essential in portraying culturally rooted characters.

Sharing her perspective, Eshaa says, “Observing people gives us invaluable insights. Many shows, including ours, are shot at real outdoor locations, which is a huge advantage for actors. When we visit these places, we get to observe how people speak, their gestures, common phrases, and even their unique ways of expressing emotions. This adds authenticity to our characters and makes it easier to reflect the culture the show is based on.”

The actress adds that her familiarity with Madhya Pradesh’s culture has further eased her journey. “Since I grew up in MP, I’ve been exposed to its local language, customs, and lifestyle from a young age. This makes playing Gauri feel natural to me. I instinctively know how to carry myself and speak in a way that fits the character. Also, living in Indore for two years has helped me absorb the local dialect and slang, enhancing the realism of my portrayal.”

Set against a cultural backdrop, Rishto Se Bandhi Gauri tells the inspiring story of Gauri, a courageous and compassionate young woman who faces life’s challenges head-on. Forced into an unexpected marriage, she becomes the Bundela family’s daughter-in-law. Refusing to let fate control her, Gauri uses her resilience and wisdom to shape her destiny. Starring Eshaa Pathak, Savi Thakur, and Swati Shah, this emotionally rich drama airs every night at 8:30 PM on Sun Neo.
