Gurugram, June 15, 2025 – In a heartening celebration of service, strength, and social responsibility, International Kickboxing Champion Sudhir Saxena was honoured today as Guest of Honour at a blood donation camp hosted by REC India Ltd at its corporate headquarters in Gurugram. The event was presided over by Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, CMD and CEO of REC India Ltd, and was part of the company’s ongoing efforts to promote health and community welfare.
Held at the Ground Floor, REC Auditorium, E-Block, the camp drew participation from employees, volunteers, and medical professionals, all committed to saving lives through the simple but powerful act of blood donation. Sudhir’s presence added energy, inspiration, and a national spirit to the event.
Sudhir Saxena: More Than an Athlete
Sudhir Saxena’s sporting journey is already well known. From his humble beginnings in Lahasani village, Ballia, Uttar Pradesh, to winning a bronze medal at the Asian Kickboxing Championships in Cambodia and a silver at the 4th India Open Kickboxing Championship, his story is one of relentless dedication, discipline, and self-belief.
But what distinguishes Sudhir is his commitment off the mat. A staunch believer in community service, he regularly collaborates with NGOs across India, supporting causes ranging from education and health to rural development and youth empowerment.
Words of Recognition from Leadership
At the event, Shri Jitendra Srivastava, IAS, praised Sudhir not just for his medals but for being a voice of positive change:
“We are honoured to host a national champion who not only represents India in international arenas but also exemplifies the values of courage, compassion, and service. Sudhir Saxena is a role model for India’s youth.”
Sudhir responded with equal humility, encouraging attendees to make community service a part of daily life:
“Donating blood is a small act that can make a life-saving difference. I am grateful to REC India Ltd for inviting me to be part of this beautiful initiative. It’s an honour greater than any medal.”
The Strength Behind the Success
Sudhir attributes his growth and resilience to a close-knit circle of support. He credits his father, Mr. Suresh Saxena, for instilling in him the values of discipline and perseverance, and his wife, Priyanka Gautam, for being a constant pillar of emotional strength and motivation.
He also extended heartfelt thanks to the Gauravi Foundation, run by Mahesh Verma and Summit Chaudhry, whose unwavering support has helped him balance both his athletic career and his community work.
Another key supporter has been Punjab National Bank (PNB), which felicitated him earlier this year on Republic Day for his international achievements—an act that reaffirmed how institutions can uplift individual excellence.
Sport, Service, and a Vision for Youth
The blood donation camp saw a remarkable turnout, and Sudhir’s presence resonated deeply with the younger attendees. His message was clear: greatness in sport must be matched by a heart for service. He encouraged youth to not only chase their dreams but also stay grounded in empathy and civic duty.
As the event concluded, REC employees and participants lined up to thank Sudhir for his inspiration. For many, meeting a national-level athlete who still finds time for causes like blood donation served as a powerful reminder that being a hero isn’t just about winning—it’s about giving.
Looking Ahead
With future championships on the horizon, Sudhir remains focused on his athletic journey. But as today’s event demonstrated, he is equally committed to building a legacy that goes beyond medals.
As a guest of honour at REC India’s blood donation camp, Sudhir Saxena showed that true champions lift others while they climb.
