Pushpa 2 Global Box Office Day 18: ₹1500 Crore Milestone Achieved Amid Controversy

Box Office Triumph

Sukumar’s directorial Pushpa 2: The Rule, starring Allu Arjun, Rashmika Mandanna, and Fahadh Faasil, continues to dominate the global box office. Despite controversies surrounding a stampede incident, the film has crossed an impressive ₹1500 crore mark worldwide, cementing its status as a massive commercial success.

Detailed Collection Report

According to Sacnilk.com, the film’s worldwide box office collection stands at ₹1506.7 crore (nett). The breakdown is as follows:

  • India (nett): ₹1062.6 crore
  • India (gross): ₹1266.7 crore
  • Overseas: ₹240 crore

By Day 16, the movie had reportedly amassed ₹1418 crore globally, with a strong reception in Hindi-speaking regions. On Day 19, the film earned ₹2.31 crore (nett) in India across all languages.

Stampede Controversy

The film’s success has been overshadowed by a tragic incident during a promotional event. On December 4, Allu Arjun, accompanied by his wife Sneha Reddy and co-star Rashmika Mandanna, visited Sandhya Theatre in Hyderabad. The actor’s appearance drew an overwhelming crowd, resulting in a stampede-like situation that led to the death of a woman and the hospitalisation of her young son.

The police filed an FIR against Allu Arjun and the theatre management for failing to inform authorities about the actor’s visit. Days later, Allu Arjun’s Hyderabad residence was vandalised by individuals claiming to be members of the OU JAC (Osmania University Joint Action Committee). His father, Allu Aravind, addressed the media, stating, “The law will take its course.”

About the Film

Pushpa 2: The Rule is the sequel to the 2021 hit Pushpa: The Rise. Directed by Sukumar, the film follows the story of Pushpa Raj (Allu Arjun), a daily wage laborer who ascends to become the mastermind of the red sanders smuggling syndicate. Rashmika Mandanna reprises her role as Srivalli, Pushpa’s loyal wife, while Fahadh Faasil returns as the antagonist, Bhanwar Singh Shekawat.

The sequel sets the stage for the third installment in the franchise, titled Pushpa 3: The Rampage, continuing the saga of Pushpa Raj.
