“Kalika” stars Raja Guru, Saarrh Kkashyap, and Raushni herself in pivotal roles, with all three delivering compelling and powerful performances. Their on-screen chemistry and emotional depth added strength to the narrative, earning appreciation from audiences for bringing authenticity and intensity to the film’s sensitive subject matter.
Actress Raushni Srivastava began her artistic journey with the television serial “Raghukul Reet Sada Chali Aaye”, featuring the legendary Rajesh Khanna. Her journey in the entertainment industry was anything but easy. “Men everywhere try to tame and manipulate women,”she reflects. Through it all, her father remained her greatest support, enabling her to pursue meaningful work with integrity and on her own terms.
In 2017, she ventured into the world of short films, marking a turning point in her career. Her performance in “The Long Drive”, directed by Ravie Ravan Kathuria, earned her the Best Actress Award at an acclaimed international film festival. Soon after, her short film “Mr. & Mrs. Charlie” directed by Amar Jeet, became a finalist at Filmfare, further solidifying her presence as a performer to watch.
Tragedy struck in December 2020 when she lost her father—a heartbreak that deeply affected her. Channeling her emotions into creativity, Raushni turned to writing and created several short films, including “Comfort Goes On”, “Is it Love or Convenience”, “My Mom”, “Duniyadaari Love Sucks”, “Women Talks”, and the iPhone-shot short feature “Tyypes of Love”. Her performance in “My Mom”, directed by Abhishek Kumar Singh, received widespread appreciation. Her writing in “Tyypes of Love” was also highly appreciated at several film festivals. She penned the lyrics for “Love The Mystery” and “Don’t Don’t”, marking her singing debut in 2022.
With “Kalika”, Raushni delivered a performance that connected deeply with viewers, as the film’s exploration of mental abuse sparked conversation and appreciation across audiences.
Another upcoming venture for Raushni is “Main Aaungee Hawa Banke”, a feature film directed by Dhiraj Singh. She is particularly excited about this project, in which she portrays the character of Mary Jose—a role and story that she feels deeply connected to.
She dedicates her journey to the loving memory of her father, Mr. S.K. Srivastava.
Reflecting on her path, Raushni says:
“Life is an accumulation of experiences your consciousness signed up for. So do what makes you come alive.”
