The track, taken from their second mini album AWE, is set to drop at midnight and adds another chapter to the girl group’s ever-evolving sound.
IN THE RAIN, originally part of AWE—the album that marked XG’s debut on the Billboard 200 last November—is a moody, R&B-infused ballad that blends the soft patter of rainfall with gentle guitar melodies. The emotionally rich track explores the quiet sadness of a breakup, likening the experience to a rainy day, and has left fans moved with its melancholic beauty.
A fan-favorite during their ongoing XG 1st WORLD TOUR ‘The first HOWL’, the song has been performed with mesmerizing choreography involving umbrellas, earning acclaim for its cinematic appeal. Adding to the excitement, a new version titled ‘IN THE RAIN x XDM’ will also be released for the first time. This reimagined rendition infuses the original with high-powered EDM energy, showcasing the group’s versatility and signature XDM Series sound.

Making history yet again, XG were just revealed as the first Japanese artists to headline Coachella’s Sahara Stage—the festival’s largest indoor venue. They’ll take the stage this weekend at 22:55 local time, cementing their place as one of Japan’s most prominent global music exports.
The group continues their world tour through Latin America and North America, with stops in São Paulo, Mexico City, and Seattle. The tour will wrap up in grand fashion with a final performance at Tokyo Dome on May 14—the same day their 6th single ‘MILLION PLACES’ is set to release.
