General Mills India Center Unveils Future-Ready Workspaces in Mumbai

With human-centric design and tech-forward infrastructure, the new workspaces empower talent to deliver global impact

India, July 15, 2025:  As work evolves, so must the spaces that support it. In a move that reflects its long-term vision for India and its people-first approach to work, General Mills India Center (GIC) has expanded its footprint in Mumbai with newly designed office floors at its Powai campus. This growth aligns with the company’s commitment to building inclusive, collaborative, and future-ready work environments.

Driven by General Mills’ global workplace philosophy, the new spaces are anchored in the 4Cs of Work—Create, Connect, Celebrate, Collaborate. Each element of the expansion has been designed to support employee well-being, movement, and creativity—without compromising on functionality or flexibility.

A Workplace Built for Tomorrow

The expansion was designed and executed entirely in-house by the General Mills Workplace Solutions team, with a clear focus on functionality, well-being, and employee experience. The new floors include tech-enabled meeting and training rooms, collaboration zones with natural light and ergonomic seating, flexible breakout spaces, and wellness additions such as walk-a-stations, recreation and resting rooms, mothers’ and doctors’ rooms, and two fully equipped gyms. The workspace also features curated fine art selected by the company’s in-house art curator—to subtly align with General Mills’ visual identity and open culture.

Mills India Convention Center: A New Hub for Collaboration and Innovation

In addition to the expanded workspace, General Mills has also built the Mills India Convention Center, envisioned as a central venue for large and small team engagements, leadership town halls, and innovation showcases.

Driving Innovation Through Technology and Collaboration

GIC is home to key functions including Digital & Technology, Supply Chain, Finance and Innovation, Technology & Quality who play a vital role in strengthening global processes, driving digital transformation and innovation. This dynamic workspace enables seamless collaboration and agility, empowering employees to innovate and deliver impact in a fast-changing market.

Monika Potharkar, Senior Director, Finance India & GIC Site Lead, added, “The General Mills India Center aims to continue to prioritize driving  innovation and talent, with a focus on creating positive global business impact. The floor expansion in Powai reflects our commitment to ensure employees have a holistic work environment that nurtures creativity and collaboration, thus unlocking enhanced productivity.
